Halloween

Halloween is a 1978  American independent horror film directed and produced by John Carpenter. Debra Hill aslo helped co-write it.

camera angles
The first angle was an extreme long shot of a house then it becomes an extreme close up, focusing on a pumpkin, this shows us that its Halloween. It starts of with hand held camera as it approaches the house, its seems real. Most of the beginning its filmed as a point of view of Micheal Myers, director gives the illusion that its an adult when in actual fact its a child. There is a medium close up of Micheal Myers face. A reverse tracking shot reveals a young Micheal by his parents.
sound and editing
You hear children  singing Halloween songs. The non-diegetic sounds include dramatic music it makes you think somethings going to happen, it starts of steady and increases tempo as the action increases. he diegetic sounds include church bells, foot steps, someone picking up a knife. There are no obvious cuts, as they probably didnt want to take away people's attention from the action on screen.
Mise en scene
The film starts with an establishing shot of the house, you can tell its shot in someone’s point of view. Most of the opening scene is shot inside the house. Someone is walking through the house with a knife in their hands. The lighting inside the house is very dark; at one point what we now know was a young Michael Myers put on his mask making it even harder to see what’s happening. This in turn builds up more tension. The opening credits was written in orange with black background, with the title of the film people will instantly associate it with halloween.
