Production Schedule and role allocation

We had to think long and hard over who to use for our film. We ended up using Lisa carter aged 18 and Dwayne Harris aged 21. We didn’t want to use anyone too young or too old as we wanted our film to appeal to a wider age range. We wanted our audience to be able to feel a connection with our characters and see bits of themselves in them. We didn’t ask them to wear any particular costumes as we wanted them to feel comfortable. We also wanted them to look natural, looking like any normal teenager/young adult.

We managed to film everything in one day. We chose a bench as we thought it went well with the storyline. After getting all our footage, we also managed to get our voice-overs done. Thankfully it was a nice day outside, this goes well with our film as romantic comedies are usually light and sunny.

3 main ideas

Thriller

My idea for a thriller was based around the idea of temptation.  This girl was going to steal her teacher’s laptop. She is going to be real pleased with herself; things didn’t start to go wrong until a week later. At first weird messages kept appearing saying WHY and HELP ME! At first she didn’t think anything of it. However one day she was doing her work when a video suddenly appeared right in front of her. There was a girl crying and screaming for help, she kept saying your next be careful. The girl then throws the laptop across the room; not realising there is a dark figure behind her.

Romantic Comedy

My Rom-com idea is based on the idea of looks and how self conscious young adults/teenagers are. The film is based on a boy and a girl who have been talking a while on blackberry messenger. They seem to like each other therefore decide to meet. You would see there journeys to meet each other. However they have both been lying about their looks. The girl would have said she is tall and skinny, were the guy said he is also tall and muscular. They both didn’t feel confident in the way they look. I would also include a voice over of their thoughts on meeting each other.


Horror

My idea for a horror is a woman who has as an obsession with children’s toys. She liked playing with toys when she was younger as she was a bit of a loner. She didn’t have many friends therefore always looked after her toys. As an adult she was very shy and also didn’t have many friends. One day she just snaps and goes on a killing spree of young children and anyone who has ever hurt her. She especially targets the children who don’t look after their toys as she thinks they are selfish and the toys have feelings.
